NeoFund is a Slovakia-based public-benefit entity that develops tools to measure, grow, and publicly recognize contribution to the commons. Its flagship tool is Rovas — an open platform that records socially useful work, donations, and civic acts on a single, comparable scale.
Markets price paid labor on tradable goods well; they price unpaid community work, volunteering, charitable giving, and tax compliance poorly or not at all. NeoFund builds the missing infrastructure: a credible, transparent score for that effort, plus financial mechanisms that channel support to people maintaining the commons.
Two intertwined goals
- Establish and promote Merit as the measure of pro-social contribution — so that growing one’s Merit becomes a goal people seek for its own sake, like a degree or professional reputation.
- Grow donation inflows and direct them more effectively — toward individuals and organizations whose contribution to the commons is largest relative to the support they receive.
Three paths, one score
The Civic app surfaces three contribution paths that converge on a single Merit (ME) score:
- paying taxes (eKasa receipts),
- donating to public-benefit projects,
- volunteer work verified on Rovas.
